Colemans Solicitors Platinum Anniversary

This year Colemans Solicitors celebrated its platinum (70 years) anniversary, sampling delicious wines and delicatessen products at Italian Continental Stores’ hospitality suite in Denmark Street, Maidenhead.  The event was attended by client and business contacts, many of whom have been associated with the firm for decades.  It was entirely appropriate that the event was held at Italian Continental Stores’ hospitality suite as Colemans has enjoyed close contact with that company and the Sardo family for generations.

An exclusive selection of fine Italian wines, including a platinum medal winner, were presented by Gordon Ritchie, who has a fantastic in-depth knowledge of both the history of the vineyards and the characteristics of the wines Italian Continental Stores carefully select.

Colemans was formed as Charles Coleman & Co in 1948 by Charles Coleman and became one of the biggest firms in the Thames Valley, with 8 offices, before each office became an independent partnership.  The Maidenhead office initially operated out of offices in King Street before moving to properties in Bridge Avenue and Marlow Road.  Having secured redevelopment for three previous freehold office premises, the current firm, Colemans Solicitors , now occupy prestigious newly refurbished office premises on Switchback Office Park, Gardner Road, Maidenhead.

Charles Coleman died at his desk and whilst the current partners, Michael Cutler, Michael Stone and Kate Williams, are all dedicated to their work, they hope not to emulate him.  Both Michael Cutler and Michael Stone have been with Colemans for over 35 years.  Newly promoted Managing Partner and Head of Litigation Kate Williams has been with the firm for 20 years, having initially gained worked experience in 1998 whilst a student at Newlands Girls’ School.  The longevity of the practice and the continuity of the partners has helped maintain Colemans’ reputation and strong client base and has seen the firm act for generations of the same families, as well as representing a number of companies since incorporation.

Colemans’ commitment to client service saw them sponsor the Excellence in Customer Service award at the Maidenhead Advertiser Business Awards dinner, held in September, as this resonates strongly with the firm’s ethos and commitment to its clients.  Demands for the firm’s services have seen the addition of employment law expert, Craig Havard, this year and two new solicitors will be joining the very busy and expanding private client department in January, dealing with wills, trusts, probate and Inheritance Tax mitigation.
