Michael was educated at Maidenhead Grammar School and King’s College, London. He has been a solicitor since 1980 and heads Colemans’ Private Client department, dealing with Wills, administration of estates, trusts, asset protection, tax mitigation, powers of attorney (including Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney), Court of Protection work and related matters.
Michael specialises in the intelligent use of trusts for asset protection and Inheritance Tax mitigation, and his work in those areas led to his admission in 1995 to membership of the prestigious Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the multi-national and cross-professional specialist body for the most experienced and senior practitioners in this field. Michael also specializes in explaining complicated things as simply as possible.
He lives in Marlow with his wife (who is also a solicitor) and their two teenage children. He has a keen interest in all things technological and astronomical.
Michael’s chosen sport is target shooting – he won a silver medal for pistol shooting at the Edinburgh Commonwealth Games, turned to rifle shooting after the confiscation of licensed handguns, and is now in the top five in the country in his new discipline.
Michael is also an active member of his local Rotary club.
